Riding a motorcycle in Virginia requires a special endorsement on your driver's license and motorcycle insurance.
The first thing you have to keep in mind is that there isn't just one requirement to abide by. Instead, the state of Virginia has three kinds of coverage prerequisites that you have to meet. If you do not have all of the three listed by the state, you'll have to pay the UMV fee that we previously alluded to. So the first kind of protection on the state's list is the coverage for bodily injury or the death of one person. The amount of protection necessary is $25,000. For the death of two or more people or their bodily injury, the amount rises to $50,000. And finally, Virginia wants you to have property damage protection in the amount of $20,000.
